Richard J. Blackwell Jr. “aka” $gt B was born in the twin city of Texarkana. He has been rapping every since the age of 10. $gt B has a talented mind frame because he can play drums and piano. He has had influences from all over the USA. $gt B has lived from the small city of Atlanta Texas to the big city of Atlanta Georgia. When $gt B. was 13, he started rapping with a couple of friends and formed a group named TBR (Tight Beat Records) because they were known for rapping over tight beats. After living in Georgia, $gt B. moved back to his hometown Texarkana where he released 10 independent CD's and produced over 20 in a four year span. While in Texarkana, $gt B. did numerous shows and opened up for a lot of artist. In April of 2003, $gt B. appeared on the Fox Rich Television Show which aired on Fox33. Now he is in Arkansas at UAPB (University of Arkansas @ Pine Bluff) and just recently teamed up with J-Note and ShockWave LLC. In collaboration with $gt B.’s Texaz Boyz Records (formerly Tight Beat Records) , they plan to broaden their sound of the Ark-La-Tex to the world. $gt B. has worked with various local acts such as : J-Smooth, Dirty White, Royal Fam, Soulja J, Weskat, BWP, Band-Aid, Lady B, Lil Pooh, Zaire, Gooce, Deala Boy, Scrooge, Jeremiah Davis, ATL Shawty,Young Moe,LM,Kevo "Mr Norf Memphis", O-Rich, Banky Banks, Dub City Entertainment, 2 Piece, K-Vic, Ace, Sasha, MaddMan, CamJay, T-Real, Tawanna, Lil'Jeff, Bright Boy, Baby Baller, C-Dubb, Big Lump, Exsposure, Crash Test, The Truth and plans to work with more artist in the future. He has just recently performed with Avant, Bobby V, and even did a show with Dem Franchize Boyz. $gt B. can rap, produce, and entertain at a high level so I hope yall enjoy this 20 yr. old East Texas Sensation. .
