简介
After 10 years in the game, and while making the transition from the local to national market, the Self-Proclaimed King returns in 2008. Emerging from a deal with Liferdef/Universal, B-Cide’s back with Free Agent, his third solo effort. “This is more me. I’m older, I’ve seen more, I’ve done things that no one else around [Utica] has done.” With a new album full of club bangers, hit singles and pure fire, B shows you a different cide of himself, ranging from in-your-face cuts to personal, intimate tracks revealing details about his life. “This record is an emotional roller-coaster from start to finish. The listeners are definitely in for a ride when they pop in this disc.” On Free Agent B-Cide collaborates with some of the Bay Area’s heavy-hitters like Cognito and The Homie Jaz, along with T. Gates, Hex and others. With tracks like “Pass the Dutch” and “We Like to Party,” B shows you the hyphy cide of himself. But on tracks like “Step to Me” and “Where I Started From,” he unveils a cide of himself that people rarely get to see. “I wanted to make this album more personal. I’m sick of people telling me what I am—I know what I’ve done and I know who I am. Every one of my albums has revealed a little bit more.” The third time is the charm and on this album, he’s not only making music—he’s making a statement. “For the people who already know my music, they won’t be surprised. But, for those who always told me I’d never make it anywhere, they’re the one who are gonna eat their words.” On Free Agent, B-Cide comes into his own, spilling his heart and soul onto his notepad, giving you everything and holding nothing back. 2008 is the year of BC.
