Noam Lemish and George Marsh have been playing together since the early part of 2007. "The Turning" is their third recording together following "Yes And" (2008) and "Nightfall" (2013). www.noamlemish.com www.georgemarsh.com Noam Lemish is a multi-faceted pianist and composer whose music often characterized by intense lyricism and energy defies categorization. He has appeared in numerous performances across the US, Canada, Europe, Israel, and in Bhutan having played and performed with such musicians as: Sheila Jordan, John Handy, Julian Lage, James Newton, Dayna Stephens, Cameron Brown, Amos Hoffman, Frances-Marie Uitti, Babatunde Lea and many others. He has several recordings to his credit, including The Turning (2016), The Magic Clavier Book I (2015), Nightfall (2013), The People’s King (2010) and Yes And (2008). His compositions include chamber, choral, piano, numerous jazz works and “The People’s King”: a commissioned multi-cultural suite in celebration the King of Bhutan’s 30th birthday composed while teaching music in the Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan in 2010. George Marsh is a San Francisco based jazz drummer, composer, and educator, currently with the Noam Lemish/George Marsh Duo and the David Grisman Sextet. His recordings include those with John Abercrombie, Terry Riley, David Grisman, Jerry Garcia, Pauline Oliveros, Denny Zeitlin, Maria Muldaur, and many others. Inner Drumming is Marsh's first drum instruction book, a highly praised and unique manual for drummers. George has taught drumming and rhythm theory at the University of California at Santa Cruz and at Sonoma State University since 1982. He maintains a private studio in Santa Rosa, California. Jim Kerwin is a versatile and accomplished bassist. As a member of the David Grisman Quintet and bassist on many dawg projects, Jim has been able to explore his broad musical tastes. He has performed with bluegrass greats Red Allen and Del McCoury. He played at Carnegie Hall with Stephane Grappelli and YoYo Ma. He worked with David and Jerry Garcia in a unique acoustic setting that encompassed a myriad of musical genres. He has also played on numerous recordings - including six Grammy nominees - from big band, bluegrass and jazz to Klezmer and Latin.
