Umendo is a catchy and vibrant song that talks about the excitement of an African wedding, yet it recognises the mystery and unpredictability of the marriage covenant. In the song girl Matonto advises the young bride to conduct herself with class and respect towards the in-laws, the neighbours and the community at large.
