Lazy Jacks have been nominated for Folk Recording of the Year (Watercolour Windows) and Entertainer of the Year at the 2007 PEI Music Awards. Their new release, Watercolour Windows, has already seen airplay across the country on show such as Folk Routes (CKUA, AB),Sask. Weekend, Atlantic Airwaves, Connections, XL 96 East Coast Country, That East Coast Show, Shift, Mainstreet, Ocean 100.3FM, 101.5 FM The Hawk, university radio stations across the country and many more. Watercolour Windows has already found a place on various university Roots/Traditional/Folk charts. CFBX (Kamloops) has the CD at 3rd (23 on their top 30), CJSW (Calgary) has it at 5th, CKUX(Lethbridge) at 8th and CYRY (North York) has the new CD at 7th. Once Upon A Time was awarded the 2005 PEI Music Awards Roots/Traditional Group Recording and were nominated for Entertainer of the Year (2005) and Group of the Year (2005-06). The band is a blend of four unique yet complementary musical personalities. Dave MacDonald's poetic soul captures complex emotions and turns them into hauntingly familiar lyrics. Historian Peter Wynne rediscovers stories from our past and transforms them into melodies for the present day. Dwight MacDonald's bass provides the musical foundation and his infectious charm establishes an immediate connection with the audience. Peter Robinson's fiddling keeps all toes tapping and his devilish grin reveals the good time that is had by all. Lazy Jacks music can be purchased nationally through Landwash Distribution and have been performing throughout the summer at venues including the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival, Miramichi Irish Festival (headline performer), Tignish Irish Festival (headline performer), Concert on the Common in Rothsay, NB, The International Shellfish Festival and Old Home Week in Charlottetown. Lazy Jacks was the headline performer at the 2006 Miramichi Folksong Festival and their original music has enjoyed national airplay on CBC's Vinyl Café.
