Jay wrote "Lord Cleanse My Soul" in 2004 which has won him numerous accolades. In November 2008, he journeyed to Nashville, Tennessee for a three song recording session. Two of the songs were recorded on Friday, and as requested by Jay, "Lord Cleanse My Soul" was recorded in the reverence of Sunday afternoon.
