"LOVEBOOK" was inspired by a children's poem written by Nandana Sen. Each movement of the suite is a response to one of the couplets of the poem. Here, with Ms. Sen's kind permission, is the original text: "We like to squeeze!" Quacked the Geese. "I like a good hug," Chuckled Bed Bug. "I like hearts throbbin!" Tweeted the Robin. "I like to caress," Growled the Tigress. "I like tickle-and-laugh!" Giggled Giraffe. "I like to just pat," Purred Bob Cat. "We like holding hands!" Yelled Monkeys in bands. "I like to fuss," Smiled Platypus. "I like snuggling you!" Jumped Kangaroo. "We like making vows," Mooed ALL the Cows. "But I like NO bluffin!" Piped up the Puffin. "Well, I like to CARE!" Roared Polar Bear. "I like to snog," Moaned the Dog. "I like to drool!" Brayed the Mule. "But over what?"
