"For Our Friends" was recorded by Lilach and Gary Bonanni and named in honor of their biggest supporters. Recorded in a traditional style, the story centers around Eugene Eric at a crossroads when he decides to break himself free from the generic grind and get into a new environment, to change his life. "If the dream ain't right it'll never be enough." Eugene Eric's journey begins with the realization of what a dream really is to him and the loneliness of breaking away from the things that keep you down. He cries for the sunshine and gets it. And in an innocent new breath finds himself engrossed in a slow walk in a new place filled with generic people in thin uniforms racing around like scenes. Instead of finding his freedom from the grind he discovers deception, manipulation, addiction to a big city and the solitude of being a victim of the night. When a radical change took place before his very eyes it had him recognizing the commonalities and repetitiveness and how silly we actually are. The same old grind. Only this time starting at the bottom is to be a bottom dweller in a dirty city. It didn't take him long to get in there scrubbing like the rest, but ole' Gene gets to his senses. As he slides away from the generic repetitiveness so does his desire to join another clang. And so he's off..... Dreamin again.
