Linda Marks is a singer-songwriter and cabaret performer known for her heart to heart style. Songs from the heart touch the heart of the listener. Linda believes music is magic. It touches. It inspires. It expresses. It heals. It brings us all together and helps us know we are not alone. For Linda, music was her first language. As a toddler, she would find her way to the piano and start writing songs intuitively. She did not talk until she was three. Linda studied Music at Yale University, co-founding Yale's 3rd women's singing group, Something Extra, as a 17 year old freshman. She collaborated with singer-songwriter Lisa Wexler as an early 20something, and recorded her first album, "Dreams and Themes" in 1983. Linda has performed at most of Boston's intimate music listening rooms including Scullers Jazz Club, Ryles Jazz Club, Club Cafe and Amazing Things Arts Center. She produced "Heart to Heart," a cabaret show in 2014, attended the St Louis Cabaret Conference in 2015., and released her "Heart to Heart" album at Scullers Jazz Club in 2-15. Linda has both performed in and produced many fundraisers for non-profit organizations integrating music with the message of the non-profit. including "Voices of Boys and Men" for Boys to Men New England adult-teen mentoring program, "Music, Mentoring and Friendraising Gala" for the Shirley Lewis Living the Blues Foundation and the Boston Minstrels, and "SingOut! To Upstage Lung Cancer" for UpStage Lung Cancer. Linda wrote her song "Love Is the Answer" (on her new "Coming Full Circle" CD) for UpStage Lung Cancer. Linda has been written about in the Boston Globe and appeared on "All Things Considered" with Lisa Mullins on National Public Radio.
