Sensational Pakistani vocalist Saira Peter has hit the world running, with debut fusion album Morey Mann Mein Shah. Propelling the spiritual poetry of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai RA into the global arena, Saira has ensured his magnificent legacy is passed to a new generation. Recorded in London, Morey Mann Mein Shah feature three groundbreaking songs in Sindhi, five in Urdu and three in English. With refreshing integrity and pure artistic professionalism, Saira Peter, in collaboration with world famous percussionists Taufiq Qureshi and Shikhar Naad, draws from the musical excellence of both East and West. Saira’s unique blend of language and style is unmatched. Saira holds an MSc Chemistry from Karachi University and an MA History from Queen Mary, University of London. She is professionally trained in both Eastern Classical and Western classical (operatic) voice. In London, she studies under P. Knight, a disciple of iconic British composer Benjamin Britten. She is the only singer in India and Pakistan and one of few worldwide with a stunning vocal range of over four full octaves, from A-1 all the way through to C4 (52 semitones). She has performed in many languages: German, Frendh, Italian, English, Latin, Swahili, Tamil, Urdu, Punjabi and Sindhi, to name a few. Saira is also Director of NJ (Noor Jehan) Arts London where she gives vocal coaching to students of all backgrounds, amateur and professional alike. Saira performs regularly throughout Europe and worldwide, singing conscience songs of peace and harmony and highlighting her rich Pakistani cultural heritage and Sufi values.
