A singer and arranger with a fantastic range both in her voice and material. Ella will mix standards by Ellington, Porter, Waller, and Arlen with original material. Her inimitable style and stage presence which when added to her strong expressive voice, results in one of the most impressive and unique shows around. This stunning blonde toured nationally as Katrin Sveg, in the comedy "Marriage-Go-Round", and at the Town and Country Playhouse, New Hampshire, Ella performed in great roles such as Sally Bowles in "Cabaret", Adelaide in "Guys & Dolls", Madame Rose Petal in "Oh Dad, Poor Dad". After a stint as a lead singer for the Canadian rock band "Child", Ms. Csirscu returned to her native Philadelphia to form the Ella Csirscu Quartet. The group included some of the areas top musicians including "Father" John D'Amico, and Paul Klinefelter.The Quartet has performed in many concerts and clubs around the Philadelphia area, including the Painted Bride, Penns Landing, Chez Oddete, Atlantic City Casinos, major hotels and various colleges. It was at the Barclay Hotel that Ella Csircsu and "Father John" excited audiences with their composer festival tributes to such greats as Jerome Kern, Cole Porter, Rodgers and Hart, Ira and George Gershwin and Duke Ellington. Ms. Csircsu has also appeared on many of the local TV shows: AM Philadelphia, Eddie Huggins Show and has been a regular at the area Jazz Vespers. In New York, the Quartet has appeared at the Village Gate, West Bank Cafe, Greenstreets, The Conservatory and Jan Walmans. Ms. Csircsu's varied career included modeling for Paul Midiri, commercial work with Levi's jeans, and the Eagles, PBS- public service messages, WRTI fund raising ads, Jerry Lewis telethons, and back-up recording work. She also performed at the Majestic Hotel, Cannes France, Cannes International Music Convention, with Kenny Davis and Father John D'Amico. She is currently working on a new CD. Ella is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New York and the Bryn Mawr Conservatory of Music.
