简介
This EP is a soul-driven album, reflecting my life and the Southern culture in which I Iive. Every track has a very bare arrangement of instruments with an emphasis on story-telling and vocals. Somewhere, AL was wrote about living and traveling throughout the state, meant to bring to mind the images, cities, feelings, etc. someone may get when thinking about life in Alabama. Fences of Tharptown - the flagship track on the EP - is ultimately a song about returning to your home. I chose the image of 'fences in Tharptown’ to convey the idea of home since I spent my summers growing up building fences with my grandfather(mother's side) in Tharptown, AL – where I always felt at home. There are many themes in the song (home, offering help, accepting grace, letting go of a hardship, etc. ) expressed in the story of a lone traveler trying to find his home. Please Come Home is written about waiting for my wife to come home from work at night since she worked 12-hour shifts at Huntsville Hospital when we first got married. Right Here is written about a date I envisioned with my wife one night when writing music one night. Goodbye is a song I played for my grandparents (father's side) funeral who both died when I was about 16 years old. This EP is the first of many original compositions to come so please keep in touch for more music later. I am continuing to learn and grow in the recording process so I will expect more of myself each time I record. And you should too. Please keep in touch for more music... Thanks friend for reading!
