With a sound that calls from across the world, Marito Marques has released a new album that fuses his inspirations and technical prowess into a remarkable piece of music that is spontaneous, frenetic, and full of lively energy and strong melodies. “Live At Revolution” was recorded live in studio alongside his Canadian quartet and quintet, Marito Marques is on drums, Robi Botos on piano, Kelly Jefferson playing the saxophone, Michael Shand on keyboards/piano, and Ian de Souza and Alex St. Kitts joining in on bass. These music messengers take the listener on a trans-Atlantic journey from the heart of Portugal and North America on the fluttering wings “Pintassilgo” (arrangements by Carlos Garcia) to the shores of Africa with “Chirpangulá,” making a final detour into Marito’s deep drum solo on the track “Delight.” Self-produced by Marito Marques, mixed/mastered by Grammy Award nominee Helik Hadar, and mastered by Juno Award winner João Carvalho, “Live at Revolution” is a one-of-a-kind World - jazz/fusion album.
