The word Plexus is defined as "a system of interconnected arrangement or parts". The Plexus Project is an initiative to create a network of interdisciplinary artists through music, visual art, and dance. Musically speaking, this album draws elements from jazz improvisation, harmonic concepts from gospel music, intricate rhythms from drum & bass, builds and drops from electronic dance music, and even a touch of cinematic music inspired by film scores. The music is full of surprises with an underlying goal of being highly danceable. Choreography in three tracks done in collaboration with the album explore elements of hip hop, pop, contemporary, and ballet styles. Electronic visuals produced with the album involve intricate and responsive 3D environments, low poly landscapes, and animations produced using real-life footage. In the future, the project hopes to use developing technologies in the neurosciences to integrate live-sourced and meta-data from audience and produce interactive and customized sensory experiences.
