Around the same time he released a sombre piano and strings album "Rainy Nights"that received airplay in both Australia, the USA and Canada. In 1989 he began his 1920's style music with a comedy duo working around the clubs where he wrote and performed his original songs. The Duo "Tony Leen and D'Mama"performed on National television and supported some large touring comedy acts.He moved to the Gold Coast in 1990 and recorded his next album "Everything You Say"a collection of soul funk and heartfelt ballads. After a spiritual awakening period in 1991 and living in seclusion he recorded his New Age Pop style album "Peace of the Pleiades"consisting of 12 inspiring spiritual pop songs dealing with reincarnation and the spirit energy. He moved back to Newcastle in 1993 where he performed his one -man stand up comedy show that he wrote with different characters and all original songs. The same year he won the music awards for best rock song, best ballad and performer of the year. In 1995 he started a 7 year stint as Carlos Hopontopofus, his crazy Greek stand up comedy character at a local theatre restaurant where over 155,000 people had seen his one-man show. He recorded a new 1920's style album in 2010 with a group of friends and called the group "The Plastic Palm Quartet"where he had the chance to record some of his crazy ,and sometimes a little rude, naughty ditties. This spawned a film clip and single "Dog Sh*t on my Shoe" that is frequently played on more liberal radio stations in the UK and Australia. In 2014 -2015 he released a ghost investigation documentary called Newcastle Ghostly Tales and an album of ghostly eerie music grabs called "Dark Whispers"when he couldn't find the music that he needed for the documentary. He now resides in Newcastle Australia with his wife of 23 years and 16 year old son, and is performing and touring as Carlos Hopontopofus as well as writing jingles for radio and television. He is currently working on a new album as well as two children's books and short comedy films. As well as all this he is also a substitute Primary School Teacher.
