简介
CD: "Freedom...Joybeat" Life is a journey. There are moments of tranquility, and moments more intense. As the colors of a rainbow, so is life in it's diversity. It is a gift...from God. In "Freedom...joybeat", there is a diverse collection of rhythms and melodies from various types of instrumentation. In the song titled "Joybeat", comes from the book of 1 Chronicles chapter 15 where King David is bringing in the Ark of the Covenant back into Jerusalem. Middle Eastern drums called the Darbuka are played with layers of tambourines, shakers, keyboard, and Persian flute sounds to portray the passion and intensity of the moment. The first track "Gratefulness" is a smoth blend of percussion and acoustic guitar by Alex Anders of Journey Church and Pure Mix Studios in Raleigh North Carolina. Dios es Amor offers a quick change of pace with a rumba guaguanco rythm from Cuba with lyrics by grammy award winning percussionist out of Los Angeles Luis Conte. The song begins with the narration in Spanish of Psalm 27 and transitions to a beautiful call and response chorus also in Spanish.Creation is a narration of Romans chapter 8 with a backdrop of rain sticks, shakers, and chimes, all to a tranquil melody played on an improvised water drum. There are two tracks on the cd titled "at the beach". One is a improvised conga solo meant to place your mind at the beach accompanied by a conga drummer. The other "at the beach" song is a mood setting track with the sound of the beach and a large shekere being played. "Prophecy" is an intense percussion track played on an African djembe with congas, glasses, and shakers. It uses at times different time signatures and breaks that embody the transitions needed in this life that we live. The last track is a calming and inspiring welcome to the grace that only God can provide. It is a testimate and explanation of the ultimate invitation to love and peace. It begins with the sound of rain upon a tin roof, as in the Caribbean and is followed by a slow blend of an afro-cuban rumba, piano, and gentle strings. All in all "Freedom...Joybeat" is an expression of love intended to inspire, calm, and welcome listeners to the love and beautiful grace that is found only in the presence of Jesus Christ.
