Up and coming Hip Hop duo, Bloc Burnaz, have the streets feeling the heat with their most recent album release, “2 Broke Niggas Tryin’ 2 Get Rich”. The controversial title, relatable lyrics and blazzin’ beats have distinguished this group from other rap duos in the industry. Brothers Nic “Nic Swagga Chump” Holmes and Ricky “Exalt” Holmes are Cleveland, OH natives with a unique sound they’ve coined “Dat Bounce”. Bloc Burnaz found a love for music and entertaining at a young age, however, it was their talent in the visual arts that landed them both a seat at Cleveland’s School of The Arts. Bloc Burnaz revisited their love of music in 2005 making beats and releasing free mixtapes. Despite their efforts, Bloc Burnaz did not create a buzz until 2011 with the release of “Lunchtime”-period 1, the first entry to a series of videos, both featuring and produced by Bloc Burnaz, which match witty lyrics with random beats. Shortly thereafter came the release of their first album, “What’s That You Playing” (W.T.U.P) with records produced by Exalt and K3 Beats of Bloc Burnaz Entertainment and Terry T of Terry T Productions. From the arrangement to the confident approach and unique production, “W.T.U.P” set itself apart from other albums of similar genre; while performances at underground shows separate them from the rest at the local scene. Their commanding stage presence has often been compared to that of Run DMC due to, their great chemistry. The accomplishment confirmed that this duo has something special, a gift that they intend to make the most of. Since then, Bloc Burnaz has begun producing albums for various Hip-Hop artist, while touring and preparing for their soon to be released mixtape, "The Cut". This Mixtape brings multiple Cleveland hip hop artist together on one project in an effort to show unity amongst Cleveland Underground artist and debunk the crabs in a barrel myth. Mixtape singles, "Everyday of the Week" and "We Don't Care" have received recognition from fans and DJs nationwide. In 2018 the 2 brothers decided to change the name of their unique sound with a name just as authentic as their sound now coined "Bloc Burnin". “The Mission”, a song off their most recent album release, best describes the drive, ambition and determination these two artists have.
