简介
An album to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the March Hare, featuring various musical styles, including traditional songs, classical guitar, political commentary, and country novelty songs. Some of NL's finest artists, including Ron Hynes, Pamela Morgan, Anita Best, the Byrne family, and many more, with special treats from Des Walsh, better known for his fine poetry, and Newfoundland's singing painter, Gerry Squires, who also contributed the delicate artwork. An album full of spirit and life, homage to the poet Al Pittman, whose vision and dedication to the arts inspired us all. As devised by Al Pittman and Rex Brown, the original March Hare was modeled on the traditional Newfoundland soup supper and the community concert and designed to relieve the winter doldrums at the Blomidon Golf and Country Club in Corner Brook. Somehow, over the years, this vigorous but humble celebration has been transformed into an international literary festival that not only includes the work of local poets but also features some of the best writers from Canada and the world, and music from some of the finest professional musicians in Newfoundland and Labrador.
