Harry Jay Smith and the Bling are an exciting new band combining elements of funk, r&b, jazz, and pop music to create a fresh, innovative new style. Their music creates an upbeat listening experience, and has drawn comparison to artists like John Legend, Jamiroquai, and Steely Dan. The band came together in 2015 as a group of freshmen students at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, and in only their first year developed a large following in Boston, Washington DC, and Richmond, Virginia. They are known not only for their smooth, intriguing recorded sound, but also for their energetic, exciting live performances. They have been featured on several radio stations throughout the northeast, and in the words of WEMF Radio DJ Ryan Carroll: "They're DAMN good!" Their debut EP "Truth" reached #3 on the Bandcamp r&b/soul best-selling chart, as well as #1 on the neo-soul chart within 5 hours of its release, and spent a week in those positions.
