jASON fOSTER began at the tender age of 11. Previously a drummer, Jason was soon drawn to the guitar, and just about every other instrument for that matter. he excelled with ryhtym and melody at such a young age some considered him a prodigy. in which he proved with flying colors. although some would say the guitar was drawn to him. With his incredible sense of rhythm and melody, Jason was immediately creating unique music, which would become his signature. i absolutely can't stand categorizing my own material. i simply write whatever's on my mind at work. i look at music like a large display or variety of ice cream flavors they're all special. It's easy to understand the diversity and structure of his music when you look at the musical influences that have touched him over the course of his career. Guitarists like Stevie Ray Vaughn, Jimmy Hendrix, and Randy Rhodes, along with the musical works of Elton John, Bad Brains, and Jane's Addiction, have all provided Jason with guidance and inspiration to strive for individuality and not limit oneself. Originally self taught jason wouls seek professional guidance in such genres as blues, jazz, rock and even classical guitar courtesy of GREG DINGER and also from guitar co-partner from LunchMeat, KEN MCGLOIN. His diverse background and adaptability has allowed Jason to log numerous hours as a studio session musician, but his biggest was yet to come. his performances onstage had him morphed into a local legend. like Talon, The Guild, Dixie Rockets, Perfect Thyroid, Scratch Baxter, The Reptiles, Johnny Most Project, Chris Max, PEACEBOMB, Taylor Made, Outloud Dreamer, THREE, LUNCH MEAT, Paxton and currently, his newly self-titled band jASON fOSTER. He has also performed on stage with the likes of LENNY KRAVITZ, and MATT CHAMBERLIN.(Pearl Jam, EDIE BRICKELL & the new Bohemians, the Wallflowers)one of his favorite moments was doing a half/hr wdst online radio with rock legend JOEY RAMONE. Pleasure Island at Walt Disney World in Orlando, as well as, The Chance and the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, New York, opening for the likes of SPIN DOCTOR'S, CAKE, BAD BRAINS, B-52's, FIONA APPLE, FISHBONE, JOAN OSBOURNE, TOWER OF POWER, GOO GOO DOLLS, MARCY PLAYGROUND, THIRD EYE BLIND, LIVE, COLLECTIVE SOUL, SHERYL CROW, DISHWALLA and CANDLEBOX, to name a few. What really gets jASON revved and juiced is the crowds. whether its 100 or 400,000, Jason ALWAYS comes ready to perform.
