Tony Barnes is a nationally touring solo acoustic act, former lead guitar player and co-writer, for Nashville based Southern Rock band, Mckenzies Mill; and a recognized instrumental writer and performer. He is a 5 year veteran of the Nashville music scene, where he was influential in writing some of the strongest material for Mckenzies Mill, according to Kent Well's, Dolly Parton's veteran guitar player; and the band's producer. In 2007, he won Broadjam.com's guitar solo contest in honor of Stevie Ray Vaughan with his original instrumental, "Push & Pull." Tony most recently was the solo act at The Isla Grand Beach Resort in South Padre Island, TX during the Summer of 2010. While in TX, he was offered a place to stay and 2 gigs on Austin's famed 6th Street by, MTV sponsored and internationally touring, Disc Jockey, D.J. Silver. Currently, Tony is performing regionally throughout the Carolinas and will be back to Texas soon. In December 2010, Tony recorded his first solo EP with Texas Country Star, Roger Creager's bass player/band leader, Stormy Cooper in Houston, TX. Barnes is booked by East Coast Entertainment and Enterainment America, as well as individually.
