Jeff the Rick Abarta joins forces with Dan Tron Cron Wilsterman and Jeff Junior World Anderson for the first time in ten years. 13 being the first Halloween album since Costume Party Seven in 1999, this awesome reunion CD was recorded in four sessions; two in Arcadia, CA at the same studio that produced Swine Backwards and FullOn’s first albums (once called “Studio Penthouse One”, now called “The Dogwood Shack”), the 2nd was a vocal session at Pelican Harbor’s “World Studio” in Huntington Beach, CA, and the third was at Tron’s new studio in Yucaipa, CA. All sessions were recorded in less than 2 ½ weeks. The album was very spontaneous and improvisational, just like many FullOn albums from the past. It’s what makes them pros at this style of musical creation. As for the songs, you can sure tell it’s still got the FullOn sound. The theme of the album is perfect, and in a mature and haunting way, makes you think of death. The drums were used in the same way in which Mummifried was done, from scratch: layering machines and midi synching them to create unique beats. Junior’s killer vocals on “Harshin’ My Buzz” are fantastic. Rick’s placement and unique guitar riffs, along with his vocals truly make this the best Halloween venture in over a decade: a fantastic and eclectic bunch of tunes. It’s easy to get overwhelmed at the thought of this band’s essential members reuniting and pressing on. FullOn has been doing what they do now for twenty years. They have produced over 30 albums with more than 250 songs. Over half of the material is Halloween music, making FullOn the largest contributor of Halloween music in the world: the Bela Lugosi of bands. With Tron and the guys feeling that they have just scratched the surface of scary topics, the ghostly tunes should keep coming for a long time to come. As far as future plans for FullOn, they plan to tour the Southwest with acoustic guitars, and plan to release a new studio album in late spring of 2011. Smoke it till it’s gone!
