Calista Garcia is a singer songwriter from the Washington DC area. She has been playing piano since the age of six, guitar since the age of eight, writing originals since the age of nine, and performing since the age of ten. Calista performs as a solo artist and is also the lead singer and lead guitarist for an all-girl rock band called the Diamond Dolls. The Diamond Dolls are in the process of recording an all-original debut album which is expected to be released in late 2014.

As her first solo album, Calista composed original music and lyrics for a modern adaptation of the classic Greek comedy "Lysistrata" (411 BC) called "Lizzystrata". The script was co-written collectively by the HB Woodlawn Secondary Program and performed during the week of Universal Children's Rights. The songs celebrate the power of youth to bring change to society. Proceeds from initial sale of the album were donated to Humanium, an international children's rights organization. The style of the musical is rock/pop, in a similar vein to Wicked or Rent.
