The Red One got together in September 2004. Ever since, they have been constantly composing, rehearsing and performing new songs, which allowed them to secure a stable position on the local music scene in a very short time. The band has been formed in Nitra, believed by many to be the "Seattle of Slovakia", as a response to the needs of an audience seeking something different than the pre-molded and linked Slovak mainstream, which attempts to attract attention by anything but the quality of the produced music.The Red One soon began to fill the gap that existed in the musical scene by introducing mature, intense and melodic tunes, something that has not yet been brought to the Slovak market. With catchy and fun-to-listen-to melodies and lyrics that are not trying to hide anything, yet don’t reveal everything so easily, The Red One have been the star of many gigs all over the country. Some of them could not have been missed by Slovak media, which did quite a few reports on the shows and interviewed the band. October 2006 was a big month for the band – not only have they performed live on a late night music show of the national TV station, but also recorded their debut album Hunger at a studio near their home town. The whole creative process went on for a couple of months and was synonymous with hard work, true commitment and deep love for the music they are doing. What other result could anyone have expected if not the purest and (most vibrant) songs loaded with enthusiasm. Happy to announce more good news, The Red One have recently presented their first and brand new music video for their hit Go For It on the local TV station, where it achieved great success scoring n° 1 in the music chart. With their agenda packed up with shows practically each month, the band now keeps touring and composing even more eagerly, having firm support of their fans nationwide. The musical roots and experience of each of the members differ in many ways, yet they have managed to take up this challenge and give the best they can of themselves in order to pump each one of the songs with a spirit of its own. Every song is expressed in a very specific way, be it an intimate confession, a funny story to tell, a confrontation with the ironies of this world which, let’s face it; we all have to deal with sometimes, or, a playful metaphor throwing something from our mundane life into a wholly new light. The combination of the unique voice of the lead singer, the genuine guitar riffs, the groovy and funky sound of the bass line and last, but not least, the incredible rhythm of the drums all in perfect harmony, makes The Red One’s music an energetic cocktail just waiting to be drank (bottoms up preferably :)).
