One Guitar

There is a scene on the East End of Long Island, NY that is special. There is a growing community of singer/ songwriters that not only are making great music but are also rooting for one another. This album is just a small sample of the quality of the music here. This concept of using the same guitar came out of a monthly songwriter's workshop. This was a total old school approach to recording 29 artists. Each artist was given a 20 minute time slot and was asked to bring 2 songs to record, playing a guitar they had never played before.. They were all recorded within 14 hours from start to finish. The recording was done in the center of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church's sanctuary. 2 mikes on the guitar, 1 direct in, 1 vocal mike, and a remote stereo mike to control the room's natural reverb. No tricks, no pitch correction , and no gimmicks. All monies needed to produce were from donations online, and all sales of this album go completely to Maureen's Haven a Homeless Sheltering outreach program on the East End. So in the end we were all blessed in so many ways. We believe this recording reflects the joy and passion each artist brought to this unique session.
