The Hardways have been playing the southwest since 2004, with a unique blend of twangy rock, cowpunk, and traditional Americana. Whittle It Away is their fourth album, and the first with bassist Chris Lykins, formerly of the metal band Atrophy. Dirty Dan Bain continues to impress crowds with his energetic lead guitar and crazy energy, while drummer Nate Hawbaker keeps the band in line while hootin' and hollerin' from the back! Banjo and rhythm guitar player Gingher Leyendecker adds her own dimension of vocals that range from sweet to gritty, and has written most of the lyrics for this album.
