What's your definition of a real emcee? The topic of emcee versus rapper has been a healthy one over the last few years as the commercialization of hip-hop has dominated the charts and airwaves. With this in mind, allow me to introduce you to an artist by the name of Tre-Dot. He has been described as sounding like a young Biggie with a touch of Big Pun. This New York City born and North Carolina reppin emcee is truly a representation of hip-hop that any fan of the art can and would appreciate. His focus is always on delivering quality music and never on fads, gimmicks, or topics seeking attention and shock value. Since his entrance in the game three years ago after a long hiatus it became clear that fans of hip-hop still do exist in strong numbers. Since then, he has been featured on over 400 mixtapes and has a youtube page of his personal videos where views have come close to 400,000. His single "In Love Again" has reached well over 140,000 views and also features the model Ms Mysteria that he also represents and features. In addition, he starred in an indie film entitled "1 Foot in and 1 Foot Out" while placing 2 songs within the film. His consistent grind and work ethic has been honored and noticed throughout the country as he has been featured in countless internet mags, blogs, and radio shows. Two NC newspapers also did a feature on him and Bennett College appointed him as a keynote speaker for a conference on hip-hop for the students. His sound has stretch as far as Japan, Argentina, and the UK. Joint One manages Tre-Dot in the Japan market while he gets solid airplay in Argentina and the UK. As a result, he's also been featured on the popular video game Anarchy Reigns which is doing extremely well in Japan and set yo debut in the US early 2013. A mixtape based on the popular TV series "24" was done with UK award winning DJ Ames and was downloaded over 10,000 times and featured on several blogs. Also, he won the Grind Hard Award - Outta State in Memphis,TN at the Knoccdown Awards and is nominated for 3 awards at this years event. The NC Underground Music Awards has nominated him twice for this same award. On a personal note, he'll be receiving his bachelor's degree in May from St Augustine's College with honors and plans to attend graduate school while entering into the field of motivational speaking and authorship. Also, Tre-Dot is currently the co-host of the popular T Tyler Talks Radio Show which airs on Blog Talk Radio every Friday night@9pm bringing a news segment with a new twist.
