Rigidy Rourke & The Love Dogs- Grooves so funky they are guaranteed to smack you in the face. Formed and developed in the swamps of the South East. Refined and polished in the Eastern suburbs at a hill called Box. Rigidy Rourke and his Love Dogs have created a hard hitting funk ensemble that is purpose built to have the audience grooving from the first note to the last. At the core of the Love Dogs is a tight rhythm section that consists of Bass, Drums, Guitar and Keys/Vocals. This line up is the strength of the Love Dogs and the majority of their shows are played as a quartet. When the occasion allows the Love Dogs will adapt their set with the addition of a horn section and multiple vocalists. The sound of the Love Dogs has been described as a combination of Tower Of Power and The Meters with solid grooves, powerful and dynamic vocals, big instrumental breaks and virtuosic solos. In 2016 Rigidy Rourke & The Love Dogs released their debut EP “Someone’s Universe”, following it up with shows local to the Melbourne CBD and other regional areas.
