In this short work, I'm using "pure intonation" with a distorted electric violin, juxtaposing 2 different chords on top of each other and then using that resonance as a rhythmic device. This opening fanfare bursts into a completely contrasting free-flowing melodic theme that sings over a rubato pizzicato bass. Suddenly it all drops away and it's the sound of nature and crickets and then a short love song to the moon which brings us right back to the fanfare rhythmic idea of the beginning.
