Three paths along a distinct musical road unite. JeanMichel Renaud and Rami Renno, both from the town of Shawinigan in the Mauricie region, decide to form East Road during a visit to the Magdalen Islands, in the fall of 2010. During the following winter, in Montreal, JeanMichel and Pete hooked up, at first for their mutual passion for music and ginger tea. Soon realizing that their styles of music jived, Pete becomes part of the group. East Road’s music, flavored with warm and sunny folk rock, finds its inspiration in travels, in the endless sea and in the ceaseless winds. A little sprinkle of blues here, a vocal threesome playing a melody there, East Road is fluidity from beginning to end. This explosive trio is a balm both for the ears and the eyes. Their compositions transport us into a world of simple, precise and uplifting music. Their performances have been part of the Quebec music scene for a little over a year now. The group received the Microsonic 2012 award and on October 18th 2012, they will launch their first album.
