简介
With songs that range from relentless mid-tempo churns to subterranean crawls, Batillus (buh-TILL-us) cohere the extremes of heavy music into a surge of massive riffing, rolling over and descending on the listener with the force and intensity of a sudden storm. Concrete Sustain is the follow-up to their 2011 critically lauded Furnace long player, which Metal Underground recommended for fans of “massive riffs and being crushed to death in slow motion.” The album was recorded at Sound Generation Studios in New York City with engineer / producer Sanford Parker (Yob, Nachtmystium, Pelican) and mastered by Collin Jordan (Ministry, Ohgr / Skinny Puppy) at the Boiler Room in Chicago. The band's industrial sensibility has lent an edge to their doom-influence dirges and Concrete Sustain finds BATILLUS a band shifted into a fully realized sound. "[A] mesmerizing, heavy-as-f**k industrialized doom quartet and one of the Big Apple’s most inspiring acts." – STEREOGUM "[Vocalist Fade] Kainer's trash can-scraped screams, wild boar growls and droning industrial synths contribute an element of bottomless evil, sculpted from searing feedback and blistering riffs." – NPR "BATILLUS delivers a big 'ole box of torment to the unsuspecting recipient and that sucker is one heavy son of a b**ch." – BLABBERMOUTH
