简介
Christopher Teves and Tacy Edwards have been playing music together since 2000. This album, The Water Is Wide, is a collection of favorites - both to audiences and for the artists. These two artists feel the music together and have recorded a gorgeous album of relaxing music. The CD also includes a new work arranged for the flute and guitar duo called "Morgan's Song" by flutist Charles W. Smith. The song is reminiscent of "Ashokan Farewell." The duo has also written new arrangements of works by Bach, Gossec and Faure. Especially cool is an arrangement that composer Michael Hoppe allowed them to write of his beautiful song, "Glass Idol." The album ends with an especially nostalgic rendition of Londonderry Air, better known as Danny Boy. Chris and Tacy reside in Charleston, SC and play together continuously in the busy tourist market of that city. Tacy is a member of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and is principal flute of the Bowling Green Chamber Orchestra in Kentucky. She teaches flute at the College of Charleston. Chris teaches guitar at Charleston Southern University and also has a busy solo guitar career. They wanted to share their renditions of these heart-warming songs with the general public - thus the making of their CD, The Water Is Wide.
