简介
About The Album: There are all kinds of obstacles, trials and tribulations that we face in life. People face them differently depending on what their core beliefs are. I remember the way I viewed the world as an unbeliever. I was always trying to justify my sins and actually convinced myself that I wasn't wrong for committing some of them, similar to what our society as a whole consistently tries to achieve. But now as a believer of Christ the Messiah, my Lord and Savior, I now view things completely differently. That's why I decided to dedicate this entire album to confronting my previous views, views that are currently being embraced by our society now, in light of the scriptures. That's why I named this project “How I See It.” These songs are written to give my perspective on various topics in light of God's Word. The Word of God is truth, and “the truth will set you free” (John 8:32). Even if the album doesn't receive much recognition, if at least one person is edified or even saved by the Gospel message (which is literally present within almost every song) then I've achieved my goal. I'm not going to lie though, I am a bit nervous being a new artist and all. I still have a lot to learn. This is my first solo album release. I've performed in front of thousands, recorded in elaborate recording studios and featured on tons of projects, but never put out something on my own. I am, however, very confident in the message. It's clear, concise and straight to the point. Christ is the message. Whether people like the album or not one things for sure, they will be fed with the Word of God every track they bump to. I personally love the album. It's completely original and eclectic containing elements of hip-hop, r&b, pop and contemporary music. It has something for everyone. I'm very excited about the features as well. Marrio Esco (my producer/engineer and co-song writer), IV Conerly and Jovan Mackenzy will also be joining me as I tackle the lies of a fallen world. I'm honored to have such talent on my album. Each one of them have a different swag and all strongly desire to put Christ front and center in their rhymes. I hope everyone enjoys the album as much as I did creating it for them. Be on the look out for the album which drops March 29th of this year. For His glory, for your edification. Get Fed! About The Artist: GiL VARGAS GiL Vargas (born in Bronx, New York) was raised by a mother who desired nothing more than to see her three sons grow in the knowledge and fear of the Lord. She pushed and encouraged her sons to read scripture and pray daily, attend service weekly and even set the stage for them to sing within their local church, not aware of the impact that it would have on GiL later on in his life. He began singing at the age of 5 performing frequently at church along with the choir. He also performed solo acts for special services, elderly homes and even in the streets. Although he never acquired professional training, he was equipped with a statement made by his mother that has never left his mind even up until this very day, “You must connect with every lyric to truly show conviction and deliver the message as if your life depended on it.” Although his mother did her best to guide and protect her sons, at the age of 18 GiL managed to escape the solitude she worked so hard to keep and began to pursue the desires of his flesh. His true colors became transparent as he continued to rebel against the very God his mother taught him about throughout most of his life. He realized that he only lived as he did to please his mother and not God, so naturally he gave his voice up to the devil and began to sing for sinful gain and pleasure. It was around this time when he met a friend who would later become a close brother in Christ, Marrio Escobar. Marrio was also in high pursuit of achieving success as a hip-hop artist/producer during this time, so naturally the two of them united forces and began to make music together. Their unique sound consisting of a hip-hop artist and r&b singer along with original production eventually caught the ear of an independent record label out of Worcester MA. A two year contract with Straight Up Entertainment was signed by the two of them and the indulging of sin intensified. Out of the kindness of His heart, the Lord saved Marrio and immediately began to use him as he proclaimed the Gospel of Christ to GiL. Although GiL refused to listen and continued to rebel, the Lord in His sovereignty had different plans for him. GiL states, “I realized that on my own, facing a holy and perfect God, only wrath would await me. The thought of Christ living a perfect life, a life that I could never live, to then die on the cross taking on the just punishment I deserve, to finally rising from the grave to show not even death has dominion over him completely crushed me. I repented of my sins and believed the finished work of Christ for the first time. Now as a believer I strive to learn more about my triune God and all his attributes. With my talents I will serve him until he returns. My music will never be created with the intention of pleasing ears. First and foremost my music will glorify God, challenge your understanding of God and ultimately expose the listener to God's word. I hope and pray that all who listen would be encouraged and edified.” GiL currently resides in Worcester, MA where he and Marrio Esco plan to continue pursuing a different objective; to glorify God, to edify the saints and to spread the Gospel of Christ to the world through the medium of music and media. Be on the look out for his first and upcoming album titled “How I See It” (Release Date: March 29th, 2014) which strategically expresses GiL's views on controversial subjects related to common beliefs currently held by our society in light of the Word of God.
