George became good friends with Dyke, and Dyke took him to a few of his gigs in a club called Swing City. Improving with time and experience, George became lead singer for "Soul on Ice" where he learned projection and delivery to be a good singer. George wanted nothing more than his music, but in 1996, tragically his mother passed. George gave up music until 1999 when he won the 1999 Blues Showdown best of Arizona and opened his first ever Arizona Blues Society Blues Blast with Charles Brown, the Delgado Bros., Little Ed and the Imperials, Sam Meyers and many more.
