简介
The players in Dirty District are Brazilian born Jair “EAZ” Pereira, and Jamaican born Ryon “TEF” Royes, each brings his own experiences to the mix. “EAZ” has music in his blood, spending much of his youth in the company of his uncle, recording artist Nego Gato or the group Oludum, and using his capoeira on the streets of Bahia defending what was his, before coming to the U.S. “Tef” began life in Jamaica, moving to the Bronx, NY as a child before enlisting for several tours of duty in the middle east as part of U.S. naval special warfare unit 5. As “Tef” relates, “[I]its funny, but my life in Jamaica and the Bronx/Mt. Vernon prepared me for much of what I experienced under fire on tour. These experiences have hardened me and sharpened my focus. For Dirty District, it’s do or die, failure is not an option.” The group formly known as 151 decided to change their name due to the edginess of their music and the club like vibe. The name Dirty District was not only more marketable but also more fitting.
