简介
Ghetto Gold records surfaced on the music scene in early 1998. founded, created by Salodine McRae Know as Big Sal. This Brooklyn nite had an ear for music that stemmed from his background as a DJ spinning the one’s and two’s any where he could, with a degree in business and the love and support of family and friends he was on a mission, A mission to bring music from the street to the forefront by taking raw talent and developing it, Music that would be creative yet marketable. Salodine pitched his ideal to his friend Brenda Baker who had experience in Artist Development, she liked the ideal, and they went into partnership. Over the years GGR have had many individuals that would had a hand in the success of GGR but the road to success is sometimes long and that kind of dedication is hard to find and not for everyone. Trey “Stack-A-Dollar” of the Bushwick Clique was GGR first artist signed to the label. Stack a true Brooklynite with his smooth rhythm but sometimes, rough raw lyrics, expressing life through his metaphors and story telling. Stack’s Cd “Stack –A- Dollar Bill” Was released on GGR label in late 1999 with internet sell , overseas exposure and collage radio play this was a milestone for this small label. Stack continues to make music. “SIX” Ricky Da Coasta, was the second artist to be signed to GGR formerly know as “Uptown” on the 1989 single released by Tommy Boy Records entitled “Dope on Plastic”. Six joined the GGR family as somewhat of a veteran to the music game, touring with Branford Marsalis on “Music Evolution” in 1998 as a member of “Buckshot LaFonque”. This Maryland native turned Brookynite was a breath of fresh air to GGR with his articulate style of writing to his animated show performance, going back and forth between a mainstream sound with a underground flow. Six has preformed throughout the tri state area and abroad from Ohio to Nebraska. Six now residing in Texas, commutes between New York and Texas making many stop in between expanding is fan base, because once you have heard him you surly will not forget him! Six is currently working on his CD. Shabazz Everett aka “Money Bazz” raised on the hard street of Brooklyn coming straight out of Mercy Project was signed to GGR management. Bazz is in a class all his own with a 100% commercial sound that will keep you moving your body like you were in a club, Bazz music as been featured on the Funk Master Flex radio show. Bazz is a dedicated artists and a entrepreneur in 2000 he independently put out his first single selling over 500 copies in Beat Street music store. Bazz has a host of mix/cd on the market and as started his own company Stayfly Ent. Bazz has teamed up with GGR and success is grantee. Money Bazz is working on his new CD. With the sudden lose of Ghetto Gold Records CEO Salodine McRae, the Company is at a lost but will continue to put out good music with the love and support of Family, Friends and Fan!
