Seppo Sillanpää is a well known string band musician from Finland. He started professionally playing fiddle, bluegrass banjo, fingerpicking guitar and mandolin with Vanha Isäntä and Pihasoittajat in mid 70s. Later he has concentrated on flatpicking guitar and clawhammer banjo not forgetting fiddling. Seppo has put out several music guidebooks including the best selling Finnish mandolin guidebook Mandoliiniopas. Akustin Polska is his 1st instrumental solo album that got out in 1989 and received great reviews all around Finland and in Folk Roots magazine and Dirty Linen. Tony Trischka is one of the guests on this album, the main group includes Petri Hakala and Janne Viksten, two Finnish virtuosos.
