“They All Laughed” is Michael Suser’s second CD. It is a double album, with 25 different tunes representing a variety of song styles and musical eras. These songs are a collection of some of Michael’s favorites, from George Gershwin to Paul Simon, from swing to pop, from Big Band to blues. The common thread is that all of the tunes tell a story, and tell it well. From the first to the last track, Michael tells each story with warmth and honesty. He swings with energy, and puts his heart into every song, whatever the style. And he paints each phrase with the dynamic colors of his rich, nuanced voice. Michael’s vocals and piano are accompanied by his Night & Day band, a superbly talented group of musicians. The band continues to perform to much acclaim in the Washington DC area, as it has since Michael founded it nearly 25 years ago.
