After two singles, Midnight Ambassador had time to mold his music into something that he wanted to follow for the album.

After attending 3 festivals in the summer of 2017, he was inspired by bands such as Glass Animals, BadBadNotGood and Imagine Dragons, and decided to add elements that he found interesting in those genres to his own.

Black & Blue speaks of anxiety and it effect on people. It explores the whole concept of having to deal with it on a daily basis and how in this case the person in the story uses drugs to calm himself down, but they end up taking over him, proving to be inefficient.

Ironically the music is very upbeat, although it addresses a serious mental health issue.
