简介

Born into a family of gifted artists, Gregg is just one of many to embrace the craft of the muzes, chosing music as his main avenue of expression. His grandmother Mrs. Josephine Smith, herself a writer, born his father Charles Green, a well accomplished trumpet player teacher and composer. His uncle Julius E. Green was a recording artist with the group the Mad Lads for the legendary Stax record label. Gregg's own music has taken him to places allover including Paris, Honolulu, Berlin, Tokyo, New York, Amsterdam, Vienna, Boston, Toronto, the Bay Area and more, causing it to grow into multiple shades of sound. In it one can hear blues, Latin, hip hop, reggae, funk, jazz and even big band. Gregg applies the same eclectic approach to his lyricism, voicing his thoughts on anything from police brutality to child slavery to the need for respect of women and elders as well as penning songs with the sole purpose of simply having fun. Due to its diversity people have compared his music to artists as widely removed in range from each other as Ben Harper and the rapper Nas. After working with various collectives and producers, Gregg released his first solo project in 2011, aptly titled World Citizen, Followed in 2012 and 2013 with his second and third solo efforts named "Blue Collar Soul" and "Innercity Poetry" for which he teamed up with British producer Pimpernel Jones. 2017 will see the release of his fourth and latest solo project:"Soulful Mathematics."
