This is my 5th CD release of all original material, with the Exception of "Useless Colors." The reason for doing this song again is that it is a great song that has only gotten better with a far more exceptional performance. My son Shayne played the organ and piano on this one and it also includes a guest drummer. All the other 11 songs are brand new original releases and frankly, there is not a bad song among them. As with most of my music, it is primarily acoustic-based, blues-rock oriented singer-songwriter songs, with an emphasis on melody. However, this time we have 3 different drummers who are all top notch. Our regular drummer, Eric Folk, did most of the songs on this CD though. One can hear elements of blues in the songs too; like the use of electric slide guitar and harmonica. All my favorite singers have always been soulful in their style. So, I've always tried to emulate that type of style. And, it does sort of come naturally for me anyway.

"Where Heaven Lies" will hopefully leave those who really listen to the record a sense of hope. This has always been my aim in music. I've set out in music, specifically as a songwriter, to convey a message of purpose; that we all have a path. Finding that path is a gift that is beyond measure. It's not just music for me. It's a deep desire in my heart that woke me up one day.
