"Designed for Reading" is the new full-length release by Herb Grimaud, Jr., who works out of California recording under the name The Sound Gallery. Grimaud Jr. uses ambient drones and textured synth-driven tones, with occasional piano, bass and guitar played by various friends, to take the listener on an explorative journey in contemplating their own soul. As the name implies, this release is a gallery of ethereal sounds, meticulously composed and beautifully themed with otherworldly voices tying them together. With the help of respected artist Mike Brown (Electronium), Eric Campuzano (Charity Empressa/The Lassie Foundation), Leslie DuPre-Grimaud (Singer/songwriter), Steve Elkins (The Autumns/Midsummer), Lorri Myers (Singer/Painter), R (R is for Rocket) Jan Johansen, & Sarah Hepburn (Glorybox), the final project reaches for thought, movement, & sounds that pull from within.
