简介
Eighteen year old Russell “WiseGuy” Khan was born in Long Island, NY but raised in Stone Mountain, GA, the younger of two children. Music first grabbed Wiseguy’s attention in 2003, when he was in the fifth grade and heard the 50 Cent song “In DaClub” and the Eminem song “Lose Yourself.” The first two CDs Wiseguy bought were “The Marshall Mathers LP” and “Get Rich or Die Tryin.” Little did he know at that time those two albums would largely shape the direction of his life. During this time, WiseGuy’s family was looking for a place to settle down. They moved around from the homes of various relatives and family friends, giving him nothing but time to listen to music. “I listened to these albums religiously and later added hundreds more to my collection” says Wiseguy. He credits Nas’ debut album “Illmatic” for teaching him how to write lyrics. “His rapping on that album was and still is the most flawless execution and display of lyricism I have ever heard in my life,” says WiseGuy. Many other rappers also influenced him heavily such as Notorious BIG, DMX, Jay-Z and 2Pac. By the time WiseGuy reached high school, he decided to take his music more seriously. He first hooked up with several kids from school who were also interested in music to form a rap group but that soon fizzled due to creative differences. He was determined to make it in the music industry and needed to be with like mined individuals. He then concentrated on making it on his own. By the time WiseGuy turned 16, he had accumulated 5 70 sheet spiral notebooks of raps and lyrics he had written and was ready to release to the world. WiseGuy built his own home studio, learned how to mix down his music and created his first mixtape. He began experimenting with various producers and started to make a name for himself. In 8 months, with the help of 3 producers and a few guest artists, he released his own mixtape titled “Hidden Agenda.” 6 months later, he completed and released his first full length studio album "Let Me In" for sale on the web. With this album, WiseGuy created a strong buzz around his city and it continues to grow when he hits the stage and performs in front of his loyal fans while finding new ones on the way. Destined to carve a lane for himself in the world of music, WiseGuy's aspirations are to "make a living doing something [he] loves and share [his] music with anyone who is interested in listening." Welcome to WiseGuy’s World.
