简介
Luca "Jontom" Tomassini was born in Rome, Italy on one of the coldest nights of 1979. It was 00:05 of January 3rd and no one was expected to see him but you know how late night shows go.. At the age of 5, he started to play on a small keyboard the first jingle of his life. That was an irritating melody, nothing to say about that (hopefully he doesn't remember it anymore). And then, he started to play keyboards in a high school rock band, sometimes he jumped on the bass, other times he strummed some guitars and other times he had the occasion to play the blues harp. He did background voices as well and that is where he learned to arrange vocal lines as any other instrument. He studied the piano for about 10 years, obtaining a license and then he completely focused over equalization, mastering techniques, post productions and everything runs around music. According to u-g-a.com "... Jontom is a post modern italian composer, artist, media figure & impressionist, who paints soundscapes of minimalism & entrancing complexity rolled into an endless enigma of sight & sound, mind & imagination, in emotional platitudes both stark & enthralling. [...] Past the immediate sleeping dream of the temporal finite mind, to the ever awakening & expanding musical magic that is; this enigmatic artist's own unique & mesmerizing design of beauty." One of the tracks, "My love", featured on "You or nothing at all" has been reviewed on godsofmusic.com. Here's an extract of what they they say: "I'll start off by saying that alternative rock isn't my area of expertise but with a song like "My Love" this doesn't really matter. I have never been intrigued by this musical genre because I found it lacked energy, the tracks I have heard always sounded like emotionless moaning. But "My Love" has soul and energy, it bursts with emotion and gets straight to your heart like good music should always do. [...] "My Love" is probably the most emotional track I have reviewed on Gods of Music. This is a very good song and I strongly suggest giving it a try especially if you're into alternative rock." ...and alternative rock in not even Jontom's main genre! He's spent about 5 years writing soundtracks for italian theatral shows and after having learned how to match emotions on the scene with the complexity of his ambient textures, he's moving to the next step. To develope a new way of making music, to use the power of electronic music like any other instrument making the computers sound more ...human! Other extracts from godsofmusic.com: "Jontom is amazing. His song "Cyanotic" is almost perfect in all ways [...] The last time I heard such good mastering was in a song by a professional artist." Perhaps you haven't heard of any Jontom song before but I'll tell you: I won't miss the chance to grab one of the most innovative and creative albums of the last years!
