A.K.A. “Muziah” was born in Clarendon Jamaica West Indies. He attended Denbigh Primary School where his teacher noticed his musical potential guided him in developing stages. After graduating from Denbigh Primary, Muziah went on to Denbigh High School and his musical advancement continues. He went to the College of Arts Science and Technology (C.A.S.T), presently the University of Technology (U.Tech) where he did many performances with the college band as a singer. Muziah continued to pursue his musical career by joining with “Endless Vibe Reggae Band”. He played the drums and sang occasionally. Muziah under the previous stage name Phillip Famous, began to record for himself and other producers in 1988 at HC&F Studio in New York. Some of his most profound mentors include Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Gregory Issacs and Leroy Smart. Muziah appeared on stage with the likes of Cocoa Tea, Dennis Brown, Freddie McGregor, Capleton, Anthony B, George Nooks, Buju Banton and many others. In the year 2000 Muziah along with Abija, Stevie Face and Dingo won the Caribbean Music Festival. Muziah is an extraordinary and imaginative songwriter and has been writing for more than twenty years. During this time he has written songs for various artistes such as the Mighty Diamonds (My baby loves me), George Nooks (Penny Wise), Jack Radics (Love plays a fool), Teddy Brown (Naya) and many others. After surviving a massive car accident in 1997, Muziah reclaim his spiritual roots and began to write from a more conscious and spiritual perspective. This culminated in his ground breaking composition “Give Thanks” which was recorded at Neah Studios in Atlanta, Georgia, Anchor Studios in Jamaica and Air Wave Audio Studios in Jamaica. Some of the musical talents making appearances on the album are; Dean Frazer on Saxophone, Erica Newell of The Melody Makers, Pam Hall, Chevelle Franklin, Magano and Kim, “Former Backup singer for Judy Mowatt” who provided breathtaking harmony and backup. One of the songs on this album is “Noh Weh Nice like Yard” this is a song about the beauty of Jamaica and is sure to be a crowd pleaser especially since a beautiful video is made to compliment it.
