A game-changing artist and local celebrity, D. Sails began his career as a near-novelty- a preteen delivering hip-hop - but through years of maturation and reinventing his self, he developed into a versatile artist with massive body of work, one so inventive and cunning that it makes his claim of starting a "Legendary Legacy" worth considering. Born Darren Maurice Sails Jr., and born in New Orleans raised on the West Bank in a city called Marrero, he graduated from high school but never felt going to college was something he wanted to spend his valuable time attending. He found music was the best way to express himself, and after going by the rap name Mr. Materialistic at age 16, he began writing rhymes and created a group by the name of fly celebs he also created a full length album with his close friend since birth Suu. Combining a strong work ethic with aggressive self-promotion, eventually decided to go solo and finally decided to stay original and go by D.Sails.

After relocating in Houston Texas he gained more exposure and ended up getting the attention of his 18 year veteran in hip-hop lil fate who happen to be co-founder of world wide recording label DTP. D.Sails was blessed to have a family member already in the music business, gaining free knowledge and exposure all at once. He awaits his time to shine in the spot light in the mean time he records in the studio working on his first Solo album self titled D.Sails. He has a lot to offer to the hip-hop/r&b world so stay tuned as D.Sails rise and spread his Love for music over the World.
