Christylez Bacon in Concert is a special collection of live-recordings from The world-renowned John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, and The Mansion at Strathmore. This album is also a fundraiser for the upcoming 2nd album, Hip-Hop UnPlugged. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts (Washington, DC), commissioned by the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, featuring a 12-piece orchestra. Star and Metroneusense are also on Christylez Bacon's 2008 debut release, Advanced Artistry. It's the Beatbox also appears on the 2010 GRAMMY-nominated album, Banjo to Beatbox, with Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer, and on the upcoming Hip-Hop UnPlugged as a Chuck Brown Go-Go music tribute, as well as THIS PROJECT, with a baroque twist. Welfare Check is a live recording from Christylez Bacon's 2008 debut performance as an Artist in Residence at the Mansion at Strathmore. The song comes from Advanced Artistry as well, this time with a totally organic, acoustic, and jazzy arrangement. Bowl Cut is a live recording from Christylez Bacon's 2012 Best-of Washington Sound Museum performance at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Washington Sound Museum is a monthly cross-cultural, collaborative concert series started by Christylez Bacon, where he fuses his progressive hip-hop style with a variety of musicians from diverse musical genres. As a product of that series, Bowl Cut fuses a Go-Go music backbeat, a rhythm known as Keharwa in Hindustani Classical music played on tabla, a Piedmont Blues chord progression, a classical string section, and jazz horn section, with Christylez Bacon as the maestro leading with his comedic rhymes.
