Cinematic. Electronic. Unique. Cinetronique. RJ Chevalier's 2nd album follows on where his last left off but with a a greater sense of direction now that his genre-defying style has matured along with his songwriting ability and production skills. Still broadly structured around his haunting piano compositions, the tracks breathe and grow, taking the listener on an emotional journey quite often leading to a climatic wall of sound. Fans have described his music as art or story telling with sound, as each track has the element of the unexpected. Some remain somber and melancholic whilst others build to electric pulse driven finales. On this release he has joined forces with other amazing talent in Tara Minton, Oliver Sadie, and Toniet Gallego (Fader Vixen), who lend their skills adding their own spice to compliment Chevalier's compositions. Tara Minton's voice and lyrical talent works especially well with 'Last Summer' and 'Do What You Do', and the pair plan on further combining their musical ideas in the near future. RJ Chevalier is based in London and has developed a loyal following online, especially on Soundcloud where he is featured on their tour page. Proficient on the piano and guitar, he enjoys that initial creation, that spark of interest from notes stumbled upon on the keys and then builds and layers into his preferred style. His sound is difficult to categorise but quite often he'll create surprise and moments of stripped back reflection before a large final act. Styles of music that have been a large influence on his sound are movie scores and trip hop, but also general pop too. Three songs on Cinetronique have made the final of the UK Songwriting Competition in their respective categories scoring a 9/10. Faceless in 2011 and Cipher and Last Summer in 2012 further demonstrating his ability to combine the right musical elements to create moving and thought provoking music.
