Island Reggae Volume 1, a 15 track compilation of Hawaiian style reggae rhythms by well known artists BET, Bruddah Norm, Ka’ala Boys, Robi Kahakalau, Sean Na’auao, Ho’aikane, Damon Williams, Reality, Justin Young and talented up and comers, personifies the feel-good vibes of the islands. With just the right rhythmic beat for Hawaii’s laid back lifestyle, reggae music has been immensely popular in the islands since the eighties. Over the years, Islanders raised on reggae, Hawaiian and island contemporary music began to creatively combine all these different styles, and Island Reggae music was born. Today, with the support of several radio stations dedicated to reggae rhythms, there is an abundance of established stars and a continuous flow of new artists jumping into Hawaii’s vibrant Island Reggae music scene.
