On this CD I called upon some of the best players in Houston to lay down these tracks.This was a first time read of these charts and man the results were outstanding.Woody Witt on saxes,a recording artist in his own right,lead the quartet like he wrote the tunes.His clear tone and shining improvisations take this CD to the next level.David Craig held the Bass chair, also a great writer and artist himself,demonstrated the art of the acoustic bass.Ben Atkinson performed on the drums, showing with ease, how musical and without being obtrusive a drummer can be.All the tunes are in 3/4 time and were written by me but the collective improvisation is what makes this CD.Great melodies and beautiful playing...
